1 – 7 JULY 2027

Burgundy in Bloom

Fine Food and Wine

CANAL CRUISE

Join us in July 2027 for an exclusive six-night barge cruise through the heart of Burgundy, one of France’s most celebrated wine regions. From the historic city of Dijon, we’ll follow tranquil waterways through rolling countryside, picturesque villages and renowned vineyards, taking in the changing scenery as we make our way towards Chalon-sur-Saône and the wine country beyond.

Along the way, our included excursions offer plenty of opportunities to discover the character and history of the region. Follow the famous Grands Crus Wine Route through some of Burgundy’s most prestigious vineyards, explore the historic town of Saint-Jean-de-Losne and enjoy a tasting of local specialities, and visit Chalon-sur-Saône, birthplace of photography pioneer Joseph Nicéphore Niépce. There’s also the chance to stretch your legs on a walk to the Cirque du Bout du Monde, where dramatic chalk cliffs and an impressive waterfall create a spectacular natural setting.

The journey continues through the vineyards around Santenay, where you’ll visit a historic château and hear about generations of Burgundian winemaking traditions before enjoying a tasting of the estate’s wines. Between excursions, there’s plenty of time to relax on board, enjoy the scenery, or walk and cycle alongside the waterways. With meals, drinks and excursions all included, this is a wonderfully relaxed way to experience the food, wine, history and landscapes of Burgundy, accompanied throughout by our Tour Manager Andy Webster.

Getting There

The easiest way to reach your cruise is via Paris or Lyon, both of which offer excellent rail connections to Dijon. We do not recommend flying via Dijon, as the airport has very limited scheduled services. For your return journey, Le Creusot TGV Station is just 10.5 miles from the cruise endpoint, with high-speed trains taking around 40 minutes to Lyon and 1 hour 20 minutes to Paris. Guests may also choose to travel by Eurostar via Paris or drive to Burgundy and combine their cruise with a wider touring holiday.

Need help with your travel arrangements?

We are happy to assist with arranging flights, rail travel and transfers to and from the ship, as well as recommending and booking pre- and post-cruise hotel stays to help create a seamless travel experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are flights included?
You are responsible for your own travel arrangements to and from the barge. However, we are happy to provide a quote for a package holiday inclusive of flight or rail transportation.
Which airport do I need to fly into/home from?
We recommend flying into or out of Paris or Lyon, as Dijon Airport offers very few scheduled flights. Both cities have excellent high-speed rail connections to Dijon. For your return journey, a taxi to Le Creusot TGV Station (around 10.5 miles away) provides fast rail links to Paris (1 hour 20 minutes) and Lyon (40 minutes). Guests may also choose to travel by Eurostar via Paris or drive and arrange parking in Dijon for the duration of their cruise.
Please contact us for assistance in booking your flights or rail journey.
What time can I board the ship on embarkation day?

Embarkation starts from 18:00.

Is there WiFi onboard?

Yes, free WI-FI is available to all guests onboard.

What is the dress code onboard?

We want to you feel comfortable on board, the dress code is casual during the day and in the evening smart casual. Think what would I wear for a meal out in a restaurant at home?

What about gratuities?

A tip of €5 to €10 per person per day is a common guideline, but each passenger is, of course, free to give any amount they feel appropriate.

For your convenience, an envelope will be placed in your cabin on your final evening aboard. You can leave it in the designated box at the reception desk when you disembark.

Clothing

Comfortable, casual clothing is appropriate both onshore and onboard and we suggest lightweight clothing that can be layered. Shorts are appropriate for most tours, however long pants may be required for inside visits on some excursions. Your cruise manager will advise when and if this is required. You may find a significant amount of walking over uneven terrain during your time ashore. We recommend comfortable walking shoes with good ankle support. Sturdy sandals are another good option. Don’t forget to pack a lightweight, waterproof jacket (preferably hooded) or even a heavier-weight wind-breaker for cooler temperatures. Also, keep in mind that the barge, coaches and other venues visited on our itinerary may be air conditioned and possibly quite cool. We recommend that you pack a lightweight sweater or long sleeve shirts and carry them with you on excursions.

Are airport transfers included?

Transfers are not included. Pre/Post cruise hotel packages including airport-hotel-ship transfers are available. Please contact the office for details.

What time is disembarkation from?

You will be required to vacate your cabin after breakfast on the day of departure, around 09:00.

Is there an elevator onboard?

Due to the nature and layout of the vessel there are no lifts or elevators on board, however , the barge is well thought-out in terms of layout, so common facilities (restaurant, lounge bar, reception) on one level: the upper deck. There is one accessible cabin on the upper deck that is 11 m2 and has a fixed large double bed.

What is the electrical supply voltage onboard?

The MS Anne-Marie has 220-volt.

What is the currency onboard?

CroisiEurope only accepts euros on board the boats. They do not accept sterling, US dollars or any other currency. They do not accept traveller’s checks on board. Make sure you get euros before boarding, which will allow you to pay for any purchases.

CroisiEurope accepts American Express, Visa and MasterCard. You may wish to contact your bank or the company that issued your credit card to warn them that you are departing on holiday.

What to pack?

The following items are essential for any destination: sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, and maybe an umbrella. It is recommended that you bring duplicates of prescription eye wear, copies of prescriptions for any medications (generic equivalents are usually easier to obtain), copies of credit card information, and copies of your passport information pages. An adaptor/transformer may be necessary (the on-board power supply is 220V) if you bring any electronic devices with you.

“ We can’t speak highly enough of Harmony Voyages and the experience they gave us on board the Amadeus for the mini cruise from Amsterdam to Rotterdam...

We enjoyed 4 nights of wonderful customer service, superb entertainment and exceptional food & drink. We cannot wait to come on board again soon!”

Joe and Hilary Royle

Newark

“This was our first river cruise with Harmony Voyages. It certainly won’t be our last…

Everything was simply superb from the moment we embarked on the Amadeus Cara in Passau until we disembarked a week later in Budapest. The ship, the crew, the itinerary, the cabin, the food, drink, ambience and the fantastic music provided by Paul Carrack and Nina Zella were simply out of this world, and massively surpassed our expectations. We can’t wait for another cruise in 2023. Keep up the great work, and hope to see you again soon. “

Gilly Parsons

We were looked after so we’ll both by Harmony and the crew of Amadeus Cara. This is the best European holiday I have ever had.“
